If haircuts could kill...

I'm blatantly stealing this from HarvestBird, but it had to be done. You don't meet folk like Stephan Fry's character often, but you meet people who come close more often then you might think.

lol i love this skit, a bit of fry and laurie can be such genius.

I actually had a discussion in a similar vein at the last classics society pub night where all the greek language nerds were talking about what a great versitile language ancient greek is, and how limited english can be in comparison lol

"is english too ironic to sustain Hitlerian style?" lol

and it's so true that we do resort to stock phrases in conversation, it's kind of a loosing battle to try to communicate outside those stock phrases, but sometimes you get a conversation that is slightly more genuine than pedantic, without references to "the old salt mine" and "the dusty trail" lol

They are both magnificent.

Also, have you watched "The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive?" It offers a lot of (admittedly oft-sad) insight into Mr. Fry's wacky life.

Also, this clip reminded me of first-year Linguistics. It was both fascinating and nauseating most of the time!
