Okay NOW I'm gone for a week

I just had to share this first of three episodes in Adam Curtis' latest series The Trap. The man is just brilliant and makes Michael Moore look like a chubby teenager with his hand down his pants while swearing loudly at a poster of Ronald Reagan riding horseback.

Wow.

Does this not speak to so many of the ideas you and I have both tossed around now and again?

I almost pity those like Buchanan who had fantastic, revolutionary ideas that happened to be unflattering to the human ego and eventually manipulated and distorted by the Thatchers et al.

Also, half of the video made me think of Dr. Strangelove.

Incidentally, Kubrick was antisocial and paranoid and misanthropic. I guess he was a social undesirable!

I don't feel too hypocritical about this even though I am on a cocktail of drugs myself, because I can differentiate between a healthy level of dissent and scepticism which drives me and the unhealthy, irrational, paranoid self-loathing which inhibits me.

ok nuff ramblin' lollertits
